Professional Learning Communities(PLCs) utilize continuous improvement cycles to focus collaborative work on improving student achievement. PLCs consist of numerous collaborative teams.
On Wednesday, November 26th, T. Steve and T. Jeanie participated in the Oxford International Professional Development workshop, held in Bangkok at the Grand Ballroom, Grande Centre Point Terminal 21 Hotel.
Educators from across Southeast Asia gathered to discuss strategies for fostering resilient learners and developing sustainable, future-ready educational institutions. This comprehensive day-long event featured motivating keynote speeches, engaging workshops, and insightful panel discussions delivered by distinguished leaders in education.
The Go Further Awards celebrated excellence in teaching and learning, while attendees also heard inspiring stories from OIP schools and students who shared their achievements, the approaches that helped them succeed, and their aspirations for the future. As school leaders, both T. Jeanie and I found this to be an exceptional opportunity to connect with educators from the region, exchange valuable insights, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of education.
The workshop explored interdisciplinary learning designed to create real-world impact and offered a meaningful opportunity to deepen our understanding of positive education. The theme, “OUP International Professional Development,” reflects a concept we aim to implement at Mataneedol International School Thailand as we continue to move forward on a progressive and upward trajectory.
The event also included a panel discussion that focused on leading resilience initiatives across Southeast Asia, the essential requirements for future-ready schools, and concluded with an inspiring talk by guest speaker Penny Butterworth on global skills and the new qualifications and subjects currently in development for the future.
